Back in Nairobi mode again and can therefore start blogging. It took me a couple of days to get settled but now it starts to feel like I never left.
I got here 1.30 in the morning on Friday and have since then managed to unpack, do an Earthdance remake on Saturday, sleep through Sunday and go to the Swedish School, Junction and a new gym today.
Turkish Airlines is perhaps not the comfiest airline but it has really good service. One of the stewardesses kept bringing me cookies all the time on the second flight, the one between Istanbul and Nairobi, but that might just have been because she accidently emptied a liter of Coca Cola Light over me. Thank god I had extra clothes in my carrion luggage because I really got drenched.
Saturday night we went to Earthdance and partied all night. No worries mam, grandmas or anyone else thinking “Oh no”, I wasn’t alone for a sec and there where loads of nice people I knew and could hang out with. The night was amazing but I did miss my Swedish girls a bit, it just feels a bit weird being back when almost everyone is gone.
And today I got the warmest welcome ever from teachers, boarding parents and friends when I went to the Swedish School. It was such a good feeling to be back, except for when I walked past Jacobs’s room and started crying. I still can’t believe he’s gone.
The lovely leftovers from last year is Ellen, Linnea, Fredrik and Axel and seeing some familiar faces on the school took away a bit of the weirdness of seeing new people living in our rooms. This year I also have Clara, whom I know from before, living here in Kenya with her family.
These months are going to be AWESOME!
