Work hard, have fun!

It’s been two weeks today since I came to St. Anton, the Austrian town ruled by Scandinavians and Brits. I have worked, worked and worked. I’ve so far only managed one day of skiing but on Monday I’ll get out into the slopes again and ski till my legs fall of.

The snow keeps falling regularly, keeping the slopes in top shape and during the day the sun usually comes out and fills our terrace with people wanting to take a break with a cold beer in the sun.

I learn a lot of useful things here as well. I have learnt what a squashed frog is and how to carry 12 beers at a time. I have learnt that Swedes are shit at giving tip (no a 5-cent coin is not a tip!! Give your waitress one of the copper coins and she has the right to give it back, because it is just a true insult). I have learnt to stay a meter or two away from British guys when the get into fight mode (which is quite often when beer is involved). And finally I have learnt that this really isn’t too bad, people might be drunk but they are nice and for every Swedish none tipper there is 6 old Danish men who tip more than enough, and best of all NO OLD ANGRY, BITTER OLD LADIES FROM STOCKHOLM!!

Beer serving time!
