Ok so I’ve been a bit quiet for a while. But that’s just because my Internship started last week and has kept me busy everyday ever since. I just haven’t had the time or energy to write so I’ll try and do a quick summery of what has happened during these two weeks.
- Stan and I went to the Sankara hotel here in Nairobi to have a drink to celebrate that my internship was finally going to start. It is one of the nicer hotels here, with a roof top bar and pool with a nice view over wetlands.
- We went with a friend to the Tribe hotel, another fancy hotel with a fancy roof top bar and then went for dinner at the Village Markets food court, Mmmm fish and chips.
- I started the internship with UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) and have from then till today been force-fed with 1 million abbreviations used in the UN, about 30 of those have stuck to my memory, the rest are long gone. But the internship really is interesting and I have learned a lot from it.
- I went to the British ambassadors residence for a little cocktail party thingy or whatever you want to call it.
- A cozy dinner at Zen garden with my dearest friend and companion in crime Ellen. We laughed so much during that evening that I still have a bit of muscle pain in my stomach from it.
I seem to have forgotten most of what I’ve done except for those things. Yesterday I can remember very clearly though, we went to the Windsor Golf Club since they were hosting a two day Oktoberfest that starts yesterday, and since my dear boyfriend wanted to go I had to accompany him, I really tried but I just don’t like bear. But we did have loads of fun and it was a really great evening.
Today, if I manage to get myself a long nice nap, I’ll have a girls night out with Ellen, Stina and Clara at the Loft, haven’t had the time to hang out with them as much as I have wanted because of my internship so we have a lot of catching up to do.
When it comes to the news everyone already knows that Steve Jobs has died, not that it has seemed to make any impact on Kenya or most Kenyans, since Nokia is the most used thing here.
Then of course we have this peace of news:

Well well no trip to Lamu for me then, not that I was planning to go since I’ve already been there.
